Our History
|
SDI opened its doors nearly thirty-five years ago, and our roots are with a
local hardware store. Although supplying nuts and bolts is far less complicated
than the integrated MRO supply chain management services we provide today, it
did give us the opportunity to work with our customers face-to-face. The strong
customer focus we developed during those early years is still the cornerstone
of our business.
In 1994, we acquired Industrial Systems Associates, Inc. (ISA) as a wholly owned
subsidiary of Strategic Distribution, Inc. In 2004, we formally changed the
subsidiary name to SDI, Inc. in order to strengthen the connection between the
parent and subsidiary companies. In 1995, our success led SDI to expand into
Mexico through a second subsidiary,
Strategic Distribution de Mexico (SDM). SDM’s market focus is the
country of Mexico and is currently the leading provider of MRO supply chain
management services there. In 1999, SDI completed all of the formalities for
doing business in Canada as Strategic
Distribution Canada (SDC) and currently is providing services to
several locations.
